A sterile brush for liquid-based cytology is a type of medical sample collection tool used for collecting specimens still known such as a Pap test. The brush is a long, thin, flexible plastic handle with silicone bristles at one end used to gently collect cells from the cervix. The collected cells are then transferred to a liquid-based medium, such as a preservative solution, for transportation to the laboratory for analysis.
